This is one of a series of interviews initially completed (circa 1995) by the Milton Historical Society (http://miltonhistoricalsociety.ca) as part of the production of the book "Milton Remembers WWII 1939-1945". The date commemorated the 50th anniversary of the end of WWII. Ten years later (circa 2005) a series of new interviews were completed to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of WWII. Several veterans of Milton and the surrounding community were interviewed by MHS staff to document their experiences in Milton, their service to Canada (or other allied force) and the impact that this had on their life. This is the interview of William "Lyle" Dales who served as a Flying Officer with the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) and the RAF (Royal Air Force) in two tours of duty in the Burma Campaign. The interview was completed on July 5, 2005 by Lou Bradley.
